Josh's soul-burning roar, the waves of groove, and the wild, raw rock and roll explode once again! It resonates as if cutting through the chaotic times! Buckcherry, which suddenly appeared in 1999, revived the classic rock sound for the modern era and achieved great success. The skills of the backing musicians led by Keith Nelson (G) were certainly undeniable, but the band was driven especially by the inexhaustible energy spewed from the wild instincts of Josh Todd (Vo). In 1995, Josh and Keith met in Los Angeles through their mutual tattoo artist, Kevin, and began their band activities mainly in Los Angeles. Even before their debut, they garnered attention by touring as an opening act for KISS. In 1999, they released their self-titled debut album, and their song \"Lit Up\" became a huge hit, receiving heavy rotation across the US. However, after the release of their second album, \"Time Bomb,\" in March 2001, the band lost momentum due to successive member departures. Josh and Keith continued the band and participated in various projects, but in July 2002, Josh left, and the band ultimately disbanded. Afterwards, Josh continued his activities, releasing a solo album, \"You Made Me,\" in 2003, but in 2005, he suddenly reformed Buckcherry with Keith. In April 2006, they released their third album, \"15.\" Through steady live performances, they gained local popularity, and in 2006, their single \"Sorry\" became a huge hit in the US, and the album also became a long-selling success. Since then, Buckcherry has steadily built up their activities and released eight albums to date. Now, Josh Todd, one of the central figures of Buckcherry, has launched a new project. It's called Josh Todd \u0026amp; The Conflict, and the album title is \"Year of the Tiger.\" Born in LA and raised in Orange County, Josh grew up immersed in punk. He would later broaden his musical horizons after meeting Keith Richards, and the songs on \"Year of the Tiger\" reflect his eclectic nature even more strongly. It's impossible not to remember that rock and roll was originally like a black hole that swallows everything and grows larger. From the first track, \"Year of the Tiger,\" a powerful, hard-edged rock and roll bursts forth, and the second track, \"Inside,\" is aggressive yet catchy, reminiscent of Buckcherry. The album features a crossover of various elements, including groovy and metallic tracks like \"Fucked Up\" and \"The Conflict,\" and a cover of the hidden gem \"Erotic City,\" which was the B-side to Prince and the Revolution's hit single \"Let's Go Crazy\" (1984). The Japanese edition includes two bonus tracks: covers of The Replacements' \"Androgynous\" (originally 1984) and Bob Marley's \"Redemption Song\" (1980). Josh's talent is evident in how he effortlessly covers these kinds of songs acoustically. Excluding the covers, all the songs were written by Josh and guitarist Stevie D, who has been working with him in Buckcherry since 2005. In addition to Stevie, the band members include bassist Greg Cash, who is also in the LA rock band Dorothy, and drummer Sean Williams. The album was produced by Eric Kretz, drummer for Stone Temple Pilots, and Stevie D. The mixing and engineering were handled by Ryan Williams, who has worked on albums such as Rage Against the Machine's \"Battle of Los Angeles\" and Velvet Revolver's \"Contraband.\" The result is a sharp and aggressive sound.
