Formed in 1996 in Krosno, a city in southeastern Poland bordering Ukraine and Slovakia, Decapitated possessed extraordinary musical ability even at the young age of 14 on average. After producing several demos, they made their official debut in 2000 with \"Winds of Creation.\" Produced by Peter (vocals, guitar), the mastermind behind Vader and a kind of big brother figure from the same hometown, and released on the British veteran label Earache's sub-label Wicked World, this album immediately garnered positive reviews. The band continued to consistently release high-quality works such as Nihility (2002) and The Negation (2004), making their presence felt in the extreme metal scene. Their fourth album, Organic Hallucinosis, released in 2006, showed a new approach befitting an enthusiastic band, ambitiously expanding the technical death metal methodology they had established up to that point. However, during the tour for that album, the bus carrying the band members was involved in a traffic accident. The band was forced to suspend activities following a tragic accident in which Witold \"Vitek\" Kirtika (drums), the younger brother of central figure Vac?aw \"Vog\" Kirtika (guitar), passed away, and Adrian \"Kovan\" Kowanek (vocals) fell into a coma. However, Decapitated rose again. With a new lineup including Vog, the band made an indomitable comeback, resuming activities in 2011 with their comeback album \"Carnival Is Forever,\" which included songs using riffs written by Vitek before his death. In 2014, they released their sixth album, \"Blood Mantra,\" which further expanded their musical territory, powerfully demonstrating the band's continued vitality and unwavering determination to move forward. This new album, \"Anticult,\" of course, vividly captures the latest form of Decapitated's signature brutal and groovy extreme metal.
