The departure of the three from ELUVEITIE was reported in May of the same year, so it was right after that. In other words, they left their old band to form a new band together. As previously reported, Ana and the others left ELUVEITIE not only because of the usual differences in musical direction, but also because they felt that \"they couldn't do what they wanted to do if they stayed.\" ELUVEITIE, which started in Zurich, Switzerland in 2002, is a folk metal band that fuses melodic death metal and Celtic music, founded and run by singer Frigel Glanzmann. Naturally, Frigel is the main songwriter, and he has been in charge of the concept of each album. As a result, opportunities for the other members to express their creativity were inevitably limited. It seems that Ana and Ivo, who also write songs themselves, were growing increasingly dissatisfied with this situation. Then, at one point, the topic of Merlin leaving the band came up, and Ana and Ivo decided to leave together. According to Ana, they had actually talked about doing something together as a trio even before that. In addition, Ivo and Merlin participated in Ana's first solo album, \"CELLAR DARLING,\" released in 2013?and that title was ultimately adopted as the band name. The current lineup of Cellar Darling consists of only three members: Ana, Ivo, and Merlin. For live performances, they hire help members, and for recordings, Ivo also handles bass. The album was produced by Tommy Fetterli of New Sound Studios, who has also worked on ELUVEITIE's albums.
