While drawing inspiration from jazz tradition and classical music, Jonas's music also draws heavily on nature as a motif for many of his compositions. This album opens with the dynamic solo piano number \"Surge,\" and \"Sitka\" tells an episode from the Alaskan city of Sitka, featuring a collaboration with top Alaskan guitarist Teemu Vinik?inen. The traditional Scandinavian song \"Emigrantvisa,\" made famous by Jan Johansson in the 1960s, is impressive with its nostalgic and elegant arrangement.
