In 1968, he released \"The Progressive Blues Experiment\" as a solo artist on Sonobeat Records. The following year, in 1969, after a bidding war among several record companies, he signed with CBS\/Columbia and made his major debut with his first album, \"Johnny Winter,\" and second album, \"Second Winter.\" After performing at Woodstock, he gained charismatic popularity with masterpieces such as \"Johnny Winter And\" in 1970 and \"Still Alive and Well\" in 1973. He then moved to Blue Sky Records and released \"John Dawson Winter III\" in 1974, a rock-oriented album that marked a turning point in his career. In 1977, he produced Muddy Waters' comeback album, \"Hard Again,\" which won a Grammy Award. In April 2014, he performed in Japan for the third time, demonstrating his continued vitality, but passed away in Switzerland in July of the same year. \"Step Back,\" released two months later, won the Grammy Award for Best Blues Album the following year.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"TOKYO JAPAN CD SHOP","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":67980927926581,"sku":"4546266224225","price":6600.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1011\/5966\/5973\/files\/51biFeVMIEL._AC.jpg?v=1793243031","url":"https:\/\/tokyojapancdshop.com\/products\/4546266224225","provider":"TOKYO JAPAN CD SHOP","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
