He was already active as a jazz pianist in his home country, but he fled to America due to the influence of the 1968 Prague Spring democratization movement. His talent was quickly recognized in America, and in 1971 he joined John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra. In 1975 he released his first leader album, \"The First Seven Days,\" and in 1976 \"Oh Yeah?\". After that, as a session player he participated in famous albums such as Jeff Beck's \"Wired\" in 1976, Al Di Meola's \"Elegant Gypsy\" in 1977, and Neal Schon's \"Untold Passion\" in 1981. He has also participated in albums and tours of many artists across genres such as jazz, fusion, and rock, including Mick Jagger, Stanley Clarke, Tommy Bolin, and Steve Lukather. He has also composed music for many films and TV dramas. Since 2000, they have only released archival works and have not performed live.
