'One for the Road' Peter Case was born in Buffalo, New York in 1954. He began making music in his teens and moved to San Francisco in 1973 to work as a street musician. In 1976, he formed The Nerves with Jack Lee and Paul Collins. They gained popularity as leading figures of West Coast punk and had a hit with \"Hanging on the Telephone.\" Blondie's cover of the song further brought him international recognition. After the band disbanded in 1979, he formed the power pop band The Plimsouls. They released two albums on labels such as Geffen, and their 1982 hit \"A Million Miles Away.\" From 1986, he began working as a solo singer-songwriter, releasing \"Peter Case\" produced by T-Bone Burnett.
