Wait and Watch Sugar Ray Norsha was born in Connecticut in 1954 and began his musical career in the 1970s, primarily in Rhode Island, as a harpist. Leading the house band that backed Big Walter Horton and Big Mama Thornton, he debuted in 1979 with the EP \"Sugar Ray and the Bluetones.\" He also played as a backing musician for Ronnie Earl. Later, Sugar Ray \u0026amp; the Bluetones released \"Knockout\" in 1989, bringing him widespread recognition. From 1991 to 1998, he participated in several albums as the vocalist for Roomful of Blues. He left the band in 1998 and subsequently led the Bluetones again, consistently releasing albums on Severn Records, including \"Rockin' Sugar Daddy\" in 2001 and \"Evening\" in 2011. As a solo artist, he was nominated for a Grammy in 1999 for his collaborative album \"Super Harp\" with James Cotton and Charlie Musselwhite.
