He debuted in 1968 with The Surfs on \"Early Bird Cafe.\" There, he met Jimi Hendrix and was invited to participate in the recording of \"Electric Ladyland.\" In 1972, he released \"Crazed Hipsters\" as Finnigan \u0026amp; Wood. As a solo artist, he released \"Mike Finnigan\" in 1976 and \"Black \u0026amp; White\" in 1978. Around that time, he became a well-known session player in LA, participating in albums and tours as a backing musician for artists such as CS\u0026amp;N, Dave Mason, Etta James, Joe Cocker, and Taj Mahal. Afterwards, he continued to participate in albums by artists across genres, including rock, R\u0026amp;B, and blues, as well as as a member of the Phantom Blues Band, Rod Stewart, Buddy Guy, and Keb' Mo'. He began working on this album in 2018, but was diagnosed with liver cancer and passed away in 2021 before it could be completed. His close friend J.J.
