You Can?ft Strike Gold From A Silver Mine Lil Ed Williams is a guitarist born in Chicago in 1955. He learned guitar from his uncle J.B. Hutto from a young age. In the 1980s, he formed the Blues Imperials with his half-brother James Pookie Young (bass) and others, and began his career. Their song was included on the Alligator Records compilation album \"New Bluebloods,\" which led to the release of their first album, \"Roughhousin',\" in 1986. After releasing two more albums, the band disbanded. The band members released two solo albums on Earwig, including \"Keep On Walkin'\" in 1996. In 1999, the band reformed and rejoined Alligator. Since then, they have consistently released six albums, including \"Get Wild\" (1999), \"Full Tilt\" (2008), \"Jump Start\" (2012), and \"The Big Sound Of\" (2016). Since their formation, they have performed at many blues festivals, including the Chicago Blues Festival, and are regulars at the Blues Music Awards.
