Boogie's The Thing Roomful of Blues was a band formed in Rhode Island in 1967, centered around guitarist Duke Robillard. In the 70s, a horn section was added, and they gained popularity playing 40s and 50s blues, jump, and swing. In 1977, they released their debut album, \"Roomful Of Blues\". In the 80s, Robillard left the band, and the renowned Ronnie Earl joined. With the addition of vocalist Lou Ann Burton, the band focused on touring. In 1981, they received critical acclaim for their album \"Hot Little Mama!\" and collaborations with Earl King, Big Joe Turner, and others. In the 1990s, a major change in members occurred, with harmonica and vocalist Sugar Ray Norsha taking the lead. In 2003, they moved to the long-established Alligator Records label. They were nominated for a Grammy for albums such as \"That's Right!\". Since then, they have consistently released over 20 albums and have also played as backing musicians for many artists across genres, including Stevie Ray Vaughan and Pat Benatar. They have also performed at numerous blues festivals around the world.
