Influenced by his pianist father, Johnny Chimes Patrue, he began playing music and made his first recording at the age of 15. He studied drums with funky drummer Clyde Stubblefield and further honed his percussion skills in Brazil, Cuba, and other places. In New Orleans, he formed and performed with the Youngblood Brass Band. Since then, he has been based in New York, working as a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter in various genres including blues, R\u0026amp;B, jazz, brass band, and rock. In 2007, he made his solo debut with \"Introducing Moses Patrou\" on Nardis, the label run by Ben Sidran. In the same year, he gained attention for composing the music for a Coca-Cola commercial during the Super Bowl. In 2013, he released his second album, \"Can't Stop Vol. 1.\" In 2020, he released the 7-inch single \"Standby Lover,\" among others.
