He picked up the harmonica at the age of 12 and honed his skills by watching real bluesmen, including Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, perform live. From the end of the 1970s, he worked professionally, joining bands with Tail Drugger, Louis Myers, and Eddie Taylor. In 1981, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and played in Louisiana Red's band for about a year. When Red moved to Europe, he joined Big Pete Pierson's band. There, he made many friends with musicians, and in 1991, he opened the club \"Rhythm Room\" in his hometown. From there, he invited many famous musicians, such as Bo Diddley, Little Milton, Jimmie Rodgers, and Pinetop Perkins, to perform and record. In 1999, he released his first album of these recordings, \"All-Star Blues Sessions,\" from Hi-Tone.
