I Shall Return Government Mule is a jam band formed in 1994 by Warren Haynes (G), Allen Woody (B), and Matt Abts (Dr). They released their first album, \"Gov't Mule,\" in 1995. The following year, 1996, they released a live album. In 1997, they officially left the band because the Allman Brothers Band did not reunite, and in 1998 they released their second album, \"Dose.\" In 1999, they released another live album, \"Live... With a Little Help from Our Friends,\" and in 2000, \"Life Before Insanity,\" both of which were critically acclaimed. However, Woody died in August of the same year. In 2001 and 2002, they released \"The Deep End\" Vol. 1 and 2, tribute albums featuring several bassists whom Woody respected, and also produced a live album. Afterwards, Haynes participated in the reunited Allman Brothers Band, and also restarted the band with former Black Crowes bassist Andy Hess. They have consistently released excellent works and, despite member changes, continue to be a top-notch live band. Their latest album is \"Peace...
