Under New Management Curtis Salgado was born in Washington state in 1954. He began his career in the 70s as a member of the Robert Cray Band and participated in their 1980 debut album, \"Who's Been Talkin'.\" Around this time, he also became close friends with John Belushi and is known for transforming him into Jake of the Blues Brothers. In 1982, he was selected as the frontman for Roomful of Blues and released \"Live At Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel\" in 1987. In 1991, he formed his own band, Curtis Salgado and the Stilettos, and released an album. He gained attention for touring with Steve Miller and Santana. Following that, he consistently released albums such as 'More Than You Can Chew' (1995) and 'Hit It N' Quit It' (1996). His 2000 album 'Soul Activated' earned him a Blues Music Award nomination.
