He made his solo debut in 1961 with the single \"(Remember Me) I'm The One\". Peter, Paul and Mary covered \"Early Mornin' Rain\" and \"For Lovin' Me,\" which he wrote for Ian \u0026amp; Sylvia in 1964. He continued to be featured by many famous artists such as Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley, and became known as a songwriter. In 1965, he signed with United Artists and released his first album, \"Lightfoot,\" in 1966, which included those songs. He continued to release albums consistently throughout the 1960s. Furthermore, in 1970, he moved to Reprise, a subsidiary of Warner, and released \"If You Could Read My Mind,\" which became a huge hit in the United States and around the world. After that, he continued to release many masterpieces and representative works throughout the 1970s, such as \"Sundown\" in 1974 and \"Summertime Dream\" in 1976. His songs have been covered by countless artists and he has won many music awards.
