He moved to Austin, Texas in 1975. There, he met his current wife, Julie Griffin, and in 1980, they moved to New York. He formed the Buddy Miller Band and worked with Sean Colvin and Jim Lauderdale, among others. In the 1990s, after a period in LA, he settled in Nashville and began to work seriously as a session player and producer. He made his solo debut in 1995 with \"Your Love and Other Lies.\" He continued to release albums consistently, including \"Poison Love\" in 1997 and \"Cruel Moon\" in 1999. In parallel, in 2001, he released an album as a duo under the name Buddy \u0026amp; Julie Miller, which was nominated for a Grammy. In 2009, he released his second album, \"Written in Chalk,\" and won numerous music awards, including Americana Music Awards, as both a duo and a solo artist.
