As a child, he was influenced by listening to jazz and blues artists such as Nat King Cole and Fats Domino. He moved with his family to San Francisco, New Orleans, and Los Angeles, and in the 60s and 70s, he worked in Los Angeles, backing musicians of various genres. Later, he toured Europe and Hawaii with his own R\u0026amp;B band, Hand, and in the 80s, he moved to Vancouver, Canada. Around that time, he began calling himself the \"Blues Boss,\" and in 1995, he released his late-blooming debut album, \"Alive \u0026amp; Loose.\" In 1998, he released his second album, \"Blues Boss Boogie,\" featuring guest appearances by Shuggie Otis and others, and was nominated for a Juno Award, but did not win.
