While still in high school, he was discovered by Brad Nowell (who died in 1996) of the popular ska-punk band Sublime, and signed with Nowell's Skunk Records. He debuted in 1996 with \"Slightly Stoopid.\" In 2003, he released \"Everything You Need\" on Surfdog Records. He gained popularity by performing at many festivals such as Lollapalooza and New Orleans Jazz Heritage, as well as touring in Europe and Japan. In 2005, he released \"Closer to the Sun\" on his own label, and in 2007, \"Chronchitis.\" He has collaborated with a variety of artists across genres, including Damian Marley, Snoop Dogg, Sly \u0026amp; Robbie, and Pennywise.
