He is the leader of the NPG Horns, the horn section of the New Power Generation, and has participated in Prince's works and live performances. He is also a producer\/arranger who has worked on seven Grammy Award-winning albums, including Kirk Franklin's. In 2012, under the name Philip Lassiter and the Dallas Allstars, he released two albums, \"River of Life\" and \"Feel the Fire,\" featuring gospel heavyweights Fred Hammond and Marcus Cole, and incorporating elements of R\u0026amp;B and hip-hop into urban Christian music. As a solo artist, he released \"Philthy\" in February 2014 and \"DreamZzz\" in October of the same year. These albums garnered attention for featuring collaborations with Michael League, leader of Snarky Puppy, Grammy Award-winning songwriter Tommy Sims (who wrote \"Change the World\"), and Bernard Wright, the prince of 80s jazz-funk.
