At the age of 15, he won a jazz contest and became the youngest member to join the German Federal Jazz Orchestra. He majored in trumpet at the prestigious Cologne University of Music and, at the young age of 20, joined a Berlin-based big band to begin his professional career. In 1993, he made his debut as a recording artist with his first leader album featuring Ray Brown. In 1999, he moved to the prestigious Verve label, and his album \"Love\" was selected as a Gold Disc by Swing Journal magazine, attracting attention among jazz fans in Japan. Since 2004, he has frequently performed in Japan. He has performed on famous stages around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York and Blue Note Tokyo, and has appeared at numerous prominent jazz festivals.
