In this space, they first discovered a camaraderie with raw funk and Southern soul, which became the inspiration for their self-titled debut album. Just like with its 2016 release, The Indications prioritized close collaboration during the making of 'Flowers'. Much of the self-produced album was written together in Rhein's home studio in Chicago, and many tracks are based on one-take demos. Sonically and spiritually influenced by the group's past releases and their individual solo works, 'Flowers' marks the next stage in The Indications' inspiring and soulful discography. They not only embrace their own flowers, but also bask in their sweet and sexy fragrance. Durand Jones \u0026amp; The Indications are a contemporary R\u0026amp;B\/soul group formed in 2012 at Indiana University Bloomington, centered around Durand Jones, Aaron Frazer, and Blake Rhein. In 2016, Durand Jones \u0026amp; The Indications released their debut album, \"Durand Jones \u0026amp; The Indications,\" on Ohio-based soul label Colemine Records (reissued in 2018 by Dead Oceans). The album gained attention when its track \"Groovy Babe\" was used in a Google commercial. Subsequently, they released their second album, \"American Love Call,\" in 2019, and their third album, \"Private Space,\" in 2021.
