For the third time, Hebdenbridge's The Lounge Society has returned to Dan Carey's (Fontaines D.C., Wet Leg, Kae Tempest) studio. \"We wanted it to start with a strong focus and end chaotically,\" says producer Carey, describing \"Tired of Liberty\" as a work that captures a dark, twisted pop groove. The album was recorded over two weeks in November 2021, resulting in a collection of intense instrumentals and omnipresent snapshots of timeless youth. To enhance adaptability, most of the 11 tracks included (with the exception of \"Generation Game,\" which was released as part of the Speedy Wunderground 7-inch series and later re-recorded) were written immediately before or during the two-week sessions. Unlike many bands, The Lounge Society functions best as a collective. There is no central leader; everything from sources of inspiration to lyrics is a collaborative effort, striving to create a creative unit larger than any individual. The Lounge Society is a rock band from Hebdenbridge, West Yorkshire, England. The members are Cameron Davey (vocals\/bass), Archie Dewis (drums), Herbie May (guitar\/bass), and Hani Paskin-Hussain (guitar\/bass). They signed with Dan Carey's (Fontaines D.C., Wet Leg, Kae Tempest) label, Speedy Wunderground, and released their debut single \"Generation Game\" in 2020 (at the time of recording the single, all the band members were between 16 and 17 years old and still in school. They needed permission from their schools to participate in the recording, and they also needed adult supervision to check into the hotel they booked to go to the studio). \"Generation Game\" became the fastest-selling 7-inch in the label's history and was selected as one of Lauren Laverne's \"Songs of the Year\" for BBC 6 Music. In 2021, they released the EP \"Silk For The Starving,\" which was selected as one of \"The 20 best EPs and mixtapes of 2021\" by NME. [TRACKLIST] 1. People Are Scary 2. Blood Money 3. No Driver 4.
