A HERO'S DEATH Japan Music CD

Product Description
Content Introduction One year after their groundbreaking debut album, Irish rock band Fontaines D.C. has completed their second album. The world-changing punk album, "Hero's Death," is released. Fontaines D.C.'s debut album, "Dogrel," released in 2019, received the highest praise among new bands that year, and now, almost a year later, on July 31, 2020, the band will release their new album, "A Hero's Death," via Partisan Records. The first single from the album is the title track, "A Hero's Death," and the video features fellow Irishman Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Wire, Peaky Blinders). "This song is a list of rules for myself, and while it's superficially a positive message, like chanting a mantra over and over, different meanings emerge through repetition. There's a balance between sincerity and insincerity, which is also the reason for the frequent shifts from major to minor keys. This is influenced by a lot of advertising. The more you look at it, the more you feel the repetitive nature of the uplifting message, which feels surreal and frightening. The title comes from a line in a play by Brendan Behan (an Irish poet)," says singer Grian Chatten. To record 'A Hero's Death,' Fontaines D.C. once again enlisted Dan Carey (Black Midi, Bat For Lashes). The recording took place in his London studio, and the album was crafted while drawing on influences from Suicide, The Beach Boys, Leonard Cohen, Beach House, Broadcast, Lee Hazlewood, and others. Furthermore, in keeping with the theme of 'A Hero's Death,' the album's artwork features a statue of C? Chulainn, the Irish mythological warrior, erected in Dublin to commemorate Easter Rising. This album defies expectations and challenges itself and its listeners, functioning as a conscious effort to sacrifice one identity to embrace another. Fontaines D.C. is a post-punk band from Dublin, Ireland. The members are Carlos O'Connell (guitar), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan III (bass), Grian Chatten (vocals), and Tom Coll (drums). The five met at a music college in Dublin and started the band. In April 2019, they released their debut album, 'Dogrel,' which received high praise from various media outlets, including NME (5/5), The Guardian (5/5), and Pitchfork (8.0/10). It reached number 9 on the UK charts and number 4 on the Irish charts, and their tours were consistently sold out. Rolling Stone magazine raved about the band, calling them "our favorite new punk band." They also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and their album topped Rough Trade and BBC 6 Music's year-end best albums lists. They were also nominated for the 2019 Mercury Prize. [TRACKLIST] 1. I Don?ft Belong 2. Love Is The Main Thing 3. Televised Mind 4. A Lucid Dream 5. You Said 6. Oh Such A Spring 7. A Hero?fs Death 8.
