Her fourth album, \"And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow,\" co-produced with Jonathan Rado, is now released. On Friday, November 18, 2022, Sub Pop will release Weyes Blood's new album, \"And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow.\" This album follows \"Titanic Rising,\" released in 2019. \"Titanic Rising\" was selected as one of the best albums of the year by over 100 media outlets, including The AV Club, Pitchfork, NPR Music, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Under the Radar, and Uproxx, and All Music, The AV Club, Aquarium Drunkard, Pitchfork, PASTE, and Uproxx awarded it the title of Best of the Decade. All 10 tracks on the album were written by Weyes Blood, also known as Natalie Mering, and Mering and Jonathan Rado handled album production, with the exception of \"A Given Thing,\" written by Mering and Rodaidh McDonald. The mix was done by Kenny Gilmore at Studio 101, and the mastering was handled by Emily Lazar and Chris Allgood at The Lodge. Meg Duffy, Daniel Lopatin, and Mary Lattimore also make guest appearances. \"And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow\" is the first in a special trilogy. While \"Titanic Rising\" was an observation of the coming catastrophe, \"And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow\" explores being in the midst of it, that is, the escape hatch to liberate us from the chaos of algorithms and ideologies. Natalie Mering, also known as Weyes Blood, is a musician from Santa Monica, California. Raised in a musical family, she began singing in gospel and choirs, was strongly influenced by classical and Renaissance music, and started playing guitar at the age of eight. In 2011, she independently released the EP \"The Outside Room\". In 2014, they released their debut album, \"The Innocents,\" and in 2016, their second album, \"Front Row Seat to Earth,\" both through Mexican Summer. \"Front Row Seat to Earth\" was named Best New Album by Pitchfork and received high praise, including a 5\/5 rating from The Guardian. They then moved to Sub Pop and released their third album, \"Titanic Rising,\" in April 2019. The album reached number 34 on the US charts and was selected as one of the best albums of the year by over 100 media outlets.
