Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, ?sgeir has pushed the boundaries of the folk-pop brand from his record-breaking debut album to the present day. This singer-songwriter, one of Iceland's most successful artists, will release his fourth album, \"Time On My Hands,\" on October 28, 2022, via One Little Independent. \"Time On My Hands\" is a work created in a state of introspection and experimentation, after ?sgeir has been immersed in songwriting, recording, translating, and producing at home and in the studio for the past few years. In this album, acoustic, electronic, and brass are delicately layered, and ?sgeir steps into new territory in songwriting. The long period spent working on the album's material gave ?sgeir the opportunity to experiment with various synthesizer sounds. \"The studio has a synth repairman and lots of vintage synths. During the recording of the album, I bought an old Memorymoog from him and used it on many songs. I wrote 'Vibrating Walls' on a Korg PS-3100. The Korg Delta has always been one of my favorite synths, and I've used it on several songs. In 'Golden Hour,' I used my own voice as the bass line, which I came up with after listening to Moses Sumney's 'Rank and File',\" ?sgeir says. 'Time On My Hands' was recorded at Studio Hlj??rit, where ?sgeir always records, with producer Gu?mundur Kristinn J?nsson. Some of the recording also took place at his home. ?sgeir plays most of the instruments himself, but occasionally invites drummers Nils T?rnqvist and Kristinn Sn?r Agnarson, and brass players Sam?el J?n Sam?elsson, Kjartan H?konarson, ?skar Gu?j?nsson, and P?tur Ben to participate on percussion and guitar. ?sgeir is an Icelandic singer-songwriter. He released his debut album, D?r? ? dau?a??gn, in 2012. The album reached number one on the Icelandic charts and became the fastest-selling debut album in the country's history. It also won four awards at the Icelandic Music Awards (Iceland's Grammy Awards), including two major categories. In 2014, he released the English version of his debut album, In the Silence, and in 2017, his second album, Afterglow. Expanding his activities worldwide, he has performed in Japan several times, including at the Fuji Rock Festival. In 2020, he released his third album, \"S?tt \/ Bury The Moon.\" [TRACKLIST] 1.
