The first single from the album, \"Empathy For the Devil,\" was released on February 12. A frontman, singer, label boss, DJ, and songwriter, Tim Burgess has contributed to many great records over the years. Tim's insatiable energy fueled The Charlatans' 13 albums, but with his fifth solo album, \"I Love The New Sky,\" Tim reaches new heights. \"I Love The New Sky\" differs from his previous works in that all 12 tracks were written by him. \"I've always written songs with other people. For my 2012 album 'Oh No I Love You,' I wrote songs with Kurt Wagner of Lambchop in Nashville. For my 2016 album 'Same Language, Different Worlds,' I collaborated with Peter Gordon, who works with Arthur Russell. But for this album, I wrote all the songs by myself on acoustic guitar in rural Norfolk. I paid attention to the chords, the guitar lines led the melodies, and the melodies led the lyrics,\" Tim says. On the album, Daniel O'Sullivan, who releases albums on Tim's label, O Genesis, not only handles arrangements and production but also plays bass, drums, and piano.
