In 1988, Lou left Dinosaur Jr., and Sebadoh began to focus on their activities as Sebadoh, becoming known as a pioneer and legendary band of lo-fi rock, alongside Pavement and Guided by Voices. (Lou Barlow later rejoined Dinosaur Jr. in 2005, where they remain today). In 1989, they released their first album \"The Freed Man,\" followed by \"Weed Forestin'\" in 1990 and \"III\" in 1991. They then moved to Sub Pop, releasing \"Bubble \u0026amp; Scrape\" in 1993, \"Bakesale\" in 1994, \"Harmacy\" in 1996, and their self-titled 7th album \"The Sebadoh\" in 1999. After that, although they toured once a year, they distanced themselves from album production after this work. After several member changes, Sebadoh currently operates as a three-piece band consisting of Lou Barlow (Vocals \u0026amp; Guitar), Jason Lowenstein, and Bob D'Amico. They relaunched in 2013 with the album \"Defend Yourself.\" In 2019, their ninth album, \"Act Surprised,\" was released worldwide on May 24th, their first in approximately six years. A North American tour covering around 35 locations is scheduled to begin at the end of May.
