Although the members change frequently, the creativity of this band led by Dave Longstreth has always remained. - Bob Boilen (NPR) Dirty Projectors, the Brooklyn-based band led by Dave Longstreth, achieved a breakthrough with their first release after signing with the prestigious Domino label, 'Bitte Orca,' which swept the best albums of the year awards. In Japan, their original and heartwarming sound has gained popularity, leading to appearances at Fuji Rock and headlining performances at Asagiri Jam. In 2020, they launched a project to release five EPs, each featuring a different band member as lead vocalist, and then released the album \"5EPs\" which compiled all five EPs into one! The first EP, \"Windows Open,\" features the light and beautiful acoustic sound of Maia Friedman, while the second EP, \"Flight Tower,\" stands out for its soulful groove and comfortable harmonies, featuring Felicia Douglas. The third EP, \"Super Joao,\" features leader Dave Longstreth on lead vocals, and is a collection of songs reminiscent of Arthur Russell, Chet Baker, and the Brazilian bossa nova pioneer Jo?o Gilberto, who sadly passed away last year. The fourth EP features keyboardist Christine Slip on vocals, and the fifth and final EP in the series showcases the voices of all the members. Dave Longstreth handled all aspects of songwriting, production, and mixing for the entire album, while the lyrics were co-written with the vocalists. The Japanese CD edition includes liner notes and lyric translations, as well as four bonus tracks.
