Thom Yorke, frontman of Radiohead and The Smile, and pioneering producer Mark Pritchard have released their debut duo album 'Tall Tales' from Warp Records. This album marks their second collaboration, following the critically acclaimed \"Beautiful People\" from Mark Pritchard's 2016 album 'Under The Sun', and marks Thom Yorke's first release from Warp Records. Mark Pritchard is a well-known heavyweight in electronic music, known for projects such as Reload, Link, and Global Communications, a unit with Thom Middleton, who created the ambient techno masterpiece '76:14'. In 2011, they released two remixes of Radiohead's \"Bloom,\" and have since remixed tracks by Aphex Twin, Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey, Slowdive, and others, showcasing their diverse styles and various aliases. On this album, Mark Pritchard utilizes old equipment unearthed from his synthesizer archives to create unpredictable and experimental music, while Thom Yorke delivers expansive and ethereal vocals, unfolding an introspective and dark storytelling. Jonathan Zawada, who handled the visual aspects of this album, can be considered a third member of the duo. His unique artwork, which fuses analog and digital technologies, adds further depth to the album's world. He also created the album artwork, and the music videos he produced for \"Back In The Game\" and \"This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice\" are part of a feature-length film project that has been conceived alongside the music over the past few years. His hyperrealistic visual world blurs the lines between organic elements and the digital, contrasting unsettling landscapes with natural beauty with a dystopian, ruthless aesthetic. Through Thom Yorke's lyrics, Mark Pritchard's groundbreaking production, and Zawada's visuals, 'Tall Tales' questions where humanity's insatiable thirst for \"progress\" will ultimately lead. During lockdown, Mark sent me a ton of MP3 files full of ideas. There was so much great stuff, I immediately thought, \"I have to do this, even if it means putting everything else down.\" From the moment I put on my headphones and started searching for vocals, words, and sounds, I had a strong feeling that I had never been in a place like this before. And as the production progressed, I felt that even more strongly as I watched Jonathan freely and intuitively shape the ideas for the visuals and artwork. It was a crazy experience, and I feel fortunate to have been a part of it. I can't wait for it to finally be released to the world. 'Tall Tales' is a very important work to me. I would be happy if it reaches many people and they listen to it. - Thom Yorke \u003ctracklist\u003e 01. A Fake in a Faker?fs World 02. Ice Shelf 03. Bugging Out Again 04. Back in the Game 05.
