Salute, born and raised in Vienna, Austria, is now based in Manchester. Salute stepped into the UK club scene at the age of 18, when he moved from Vienna, where he was born and raised, to Brighton, and then to Manchester. It was there that he truly experienced club culture, which he had only known through YouTube and Boiler Room videos until then. From there, he was exposed to genres such as grime, garage, and dubstep, refining his distinctive sound. His EP \"Shield,\" released in 2023 on Technicolour, a subsidiary of Ninja Tune, received support from artists such as Four Tet, DJ Seinfeld, Floating Points, Mole Grab, Daphne, Skrillex, and Fred Again, and was nominated for Best Electronic\/Dance at the MOBO Awards. Salute has consistently delivered impressive performances at venues like Coachella, Boiler Room (with over 1 million views on YouTube), and Glastonbury, and more recently, he has collaborated with Disclosure, Mole Grab, and Hudson Mohawke, and supported Jungle's US tour. For his latest album, \"TRUE MAGIC,\" Salute adopted a more collaborative approach, renting a house in the countryside to work on the album with friends. From visuals to sound, Salute drew inspiration from JDM culture and old Japanese car advertisements, spending hours searching YouTube to create the album's concept of racing classic Japanese cars in a fictional race called \"TRUE MAGIC.\" Salute explains the background, saying, \"I started watching old TV footage that my parents recorded on VHS, and that's how I discovered the joy of watching old ads on YouTube. From there, I started watching old car ads, and at some point, I came across ads for Japanese cars.\" This visual concept also propelled the album's sound forward, resulting in a fast-paced and energetic album.
